Clean Energy Week 2013

Interested in the latest news on innovation in Australia’s renewable energy and energy efficient industries? Then perhaps you should head to Clean Energy Week 2013, Australia’s largest renewable energy event, held in Brisbane from the 24th – 26th of July.

The event will be hosted by the Clean Energy Council, Australia’s peak industry body, and talks will focus on the latest industry policy initiatives and technology developments. It will also offer opportunities for attendees to hook up with like-minded professionals.

This year’s Clean Energy Week will open with a clean energy trade fair and will include a debate, followed by a dinner to give you some food for thought.

clean energy week logoInitial talks will come from the likes of Greg Combet, Minister for Climate Change and Energy Efficiency. While topics discussed will include energy market reforms, carbon market opportunities, analysing clean energy markets, smart energy future and financing clean energy projects.

The leader of the Australian Greens Party, Senator Christine Milne, will open, followed by Dr Yang Fuqiang – Senior Advisor on Energy, Environment and Climate Change for the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC).

Discussion on wind and solar energy will form the crux of Clean Energy Week, particularly on ways that businesses and the general public can interact with and bolster such forms of energy. The final day will discuss marine and geothermal energy and commercial applications of large scale solar photovoltaic energy. There is also a Professional Development Day for solar installers on Wednesday and a Gala Dinner on Wednesday night.
