Clean Up Australia 2014, Sunday March 2, 2021

We have been writing up, spruiking, promoting and loving Clean Up Australia Day here at Eco Citizen Australia since we first began publishing three years ago.

Why? Well it was one of the most popular, grass roots, sensible hands-on approaches that embodies, Think Globally, Act locally.

This year’s Clean Up Australia Day is Sunday 2nd March 2014 and it is a simple way you can take action to clean up, fix up and conserve our prized Australian environment.

In 2013 an estimated 550,300 volunteers removed 16,150 tonnes of rubbish at 7,341 sites right across the country. You can get involved by registering your own Clean Up Site, or by volunteering at a site near you.

If you would like to clean up an area but are unable to do so on Clean Up Australia Day, you may register your site on any day of the year as a part of Clean Up Australia Every Day and they will send you all the information and materials you need – absolutely free.

If you can’t physically join in the clean up, you can donate. As a non-government funded, not-for-profit organisation, they rely on donations from individuals and businesses in order to mobilise hundreds of thousands of Australians to produce fundamental, positive change.

For more information, to register or donate, visit the Clean Up Australia Day website.
