National Recycling Week 2012

Organised by Planet Ark, National Recycling Week 2012 promotes the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling between Monday 12th and Sunday the 18th of November.

Now in its 16th year, the program aims to bring a national focus to recycling and managing material resources. Its focus is also on improving the environmental benefits of industrial and community recycling programs.

During National Recycling Week 2011, the event focused on four campaign streams to achieve its aim.

The Schools Recycle Challenge – which engaged students in recycling and the environmental benefits it brings.

The Friday File Fling – which promoted the involvement of businesses and workplaces in recycling.

The Big Aussie Swap – promotes recycling through workplace ‘Swap Parties’.

Recycle Right Quiz – helped to improve the understanding of roadside recycling.

For more information on how you can get involved in National Recycling Week 2012, take a look at their website.
