National Ride to Work Day 2012
The National Ride to Work Day 2012, or Ride2Work Day as it is otherwise know, takes place on the 17th of October 2012 and encourages thousands of Australians that are thinking of commuting by bicycle to give it a try.
The event appears to be working as each year an increasing number of people make the journey to work, and keep on doing so. After 2011’s Ride2Work Day up to 38% of new riders began commuting to work and were still doing so up to five months later.
In fact, Ride2Work Day is now the largest cycling event in the country, as it’s been steadily building upon its following achieved during its last 18 years of existence. The majority of riders participating in the event have also stated that Ride2Work Day had a positive impact on their cycling habits.
